GIS WebServer - the server Web-application developed on ASP.NET technology with use of components of AJAX Control Toolkit, and functioning under control of Internet Information Services (IIS) in .NET Framework 3.5. GIS WebServer is intended for the publication of electronic maps and information from databases in networks Internet/intranet. Application allows to display on a topographical map data about the objects of a database having a territorial binding, to carry out viewing, sorting and a filtration of tables of a database; has functions of scaling, scrolling, changes of the sizes of the image of a map, function of search and a choice of objects of a map, search and a filtration of the information on a map and in a database, its gathering and analysis; carries out processing of hyperlinks in fields of tables; allows to look through in Google Maps pictures for the map opened in the application, to make publications of news lines in format RSS. There is an opportunity of use of various databases: MS SQL Server, Oracle, MS Access and databases of other types through drivers ODBC. Access to data is carried out by means of a Web-browser. Work with the basic types of browsers is supported: MS Internet Explorer 5.0 and above, Mozilla/5.0 (FireFox) and above, Opera 7.0 and above.
Application GIS WebServer uses technics of an interdiction of access to not identified users.
Cartographical data of GIS WebServer presented in formats of electronic maps GIS "Map 2008":
- vector digital maps (files *.map; *.sit);
- raster digital maps (files *.rsw);
- matrix digital maps (files *.mtw);
- project of maps (files *.mpt), can include the list of files listed above types.
Files of data settle down on a server and are closed for the client. The interface on work with maps provides to the user performance of following operations on a map:
- Opportunity of authorization of users.
- Change of the size of a window of figure of a map.
- Change of scale of figure of a map.
- Change of structure of displayed objects of a map.
- Search of objects under the name.
- Moving of the image of a map.
- A choice of object of a map.
- Reception of the information on the chosen object of a map: a kind and the name of object, its code, number, type of localization, etc.
- Editing of characteristics of the chosen object of a map (semantics) according to access rights.
- Search in a database of the record connected with chosen object of a map.
- A mode of a filtration of tables of a database (search under tables).
- Processing of hyperlinks in fields of tables.
- Viewing in Google Maps pictures for the map opened in the application.
- Measurement of map distances.
- Display of coordinates of the cursor in a status line (in meters and degrees).
- The interface of management is constructed by a map with use of components AJAX Control Toolkit.
GIS WebServer - adjusted application. Having a corporate database, it is possible to adjust work of the application according to its type and structure, to define the list of used maps and their communication with tables. Parameters of adjustment are described in a file of a configuration and can be changed. They include elements of general description of the application: name of application, type and a name of a database, a line of connection to a DB; descriptions of tables of a database and sets of electronic maps, and also entrance data - themes. Theme defines shared data: list of tables of a database and list of sets of maps. Program GIS WebAdministrator is used to make this adjustment.

GIS WebServer provides access of users to maps and a DB by means of a Web-browser. Presence of a Web-browser on a computer is the only stipulation of work with the GIS WebServer for the client. Work with the basic types of browsers is supported: MS Internet Explorer 5.0 and above, Mozilla/5.0 (FireFox) and above, Opera 7.0 and above.
Program GIS WebAdministrator is used for adjustment of logic of work of program GIS WebServer, definition of structures of data and Web-pages that allows to adapt GIS WebServer for concrete application. Parameters of adjustment include the elements of the description concerning the application as a whole: the name of the application, type and a name of a database, a line of connection to a DB, lines of authorization, and also elements of the description of entrance data - themes. The theme contains the list of tables of a database and the list of maps for sharing (the project of maps). There is a set of adjusted parameters for the description of structure of tables of a DB, parameters of communication of a map and tables, a kind of display of tables of a database and an opportunity of their editing. Adjustments are kept in a file of project and used by application GIS WebServer at work.

The example of a file of project of GIS WebServer shows an example of a file of adjustment of the application in which it is used DBMS MS SQL Server, a database, themes, sets of map's, the list of tables of a DB are described, and also access rights of users are certain.
System requirements:
